Since 1978, the Salt Spring Saturday Market has grown from a handful of local growers and craftspeople into one of Canada's most beloved open-air markets, supporting over 150 vendors each week. Every vendor must make, bake, or grow what they sell — and sell it themselves. Pottery, jewellery, fresh produce, artisan food, live music, and pure island magic. Runs April through October, Saturdays 9am–3pm.

A food-only market specializing in authentic, local, fresh and seasonal products — the Tuesday Farmers Market offers vegetables, fruit, meat, eggs, herbs, flowers, cheese, baked goods, vinegar, jams and more. A quieter, more intimate way to connect with Salt Spring's farmers and producers. Runs late May through October, Tuesdays 1:30–5:30pm.

Salt Spring Island's roadside farmstands are part of the island's DNA. Tucked along quiet backroads and sun-drenched driveways, they operate on trust — a hand-painted sign, an honour box, and whatever the season has to offer. Fresh eggs, heritage vegetables, cut flowers, honey, jams, and homemade treats left out for whoever passes by. It's a way of life here, and one of the most quietly beautiful things about calling Salt Spring home.
